Ebenezer was a Welsh congregational chapel. It was evangelical and missionary-minded. Its membership and congregation was the largest in Wales.
The ethos of Non-conformity was a dominant force throughout Wales during this period. Chapels were at the heart of life in the community. As well as being the centre of its member’s spiritual lives, the local chapel often formed the basis of its member’s social lives.
Like most chapels Ebenezer provided a range of recreational activities for its members. Ebenezer Baptist Church remains a popular venue for worship in Swansea today.
